This summer I committed a reporter felony and asked a celeb for an autograph.
To be fair, it was part of a gift.
Common was the celeb and he couldn’t have been cooler about it (after his bodyguard almost beat me up). My friend loved the signature that I paired with his published Esquire article that included a recipe he crafted for…Common.

Last night Michigan Avenue Magazine hosted a party for Common’s foundation and I found myself brazen enough to go up to him and tell him how much my friend loved and appreciated his gift.
I have a feeling a guy who is as nice as he is, meets a thousand people like me… so I’m sure he had no idea who I was or what I was talking about (to be fair I had dark hair then) but he pretended he did and was very charming and nice.

See how nervous I was to approach him? I didn’t even think to do a Zoolander face or pop and lock an arm.
