Shout out to Jim Mora Sr.- since I can’t say “playoffs!?” without thinking of coach.

After Saturday’s crusing loss to Vancouver, tension was high Monday night for game two at the United Center.

Lauren Tallon informed me via text message late Monday afternoon that I had the invite along with her friend Rachel O’Callahan. The three of us sat in silence as Vancouver took a 2-0 lead in the game, then exploded onto our feet twisting our rally towels above our heads when Partick Sharpe score the first goal of the game.

The energy inside the UC is electric during the playoffs, and I’m amazed at how my stress level blazes out of control during the three periods.

When the Hawks scored the game tying and winning goals- we danced along with thousands of people- screaming and throwing our towels in the air.

On the car ride in I remarked how I was bummed to be missing the MET gala in NYC, since I love reporting and fashion.  But as I took in the energy on and off the ice, I realized there was no place I’d rather be.

Lauren and KZ- all smiles post game
